About Abdullah
Hello, I am Abdullah. My passion for working with students who have autism and ADHD stems from my personal experience with a family member—my brother—who has moderate autism and anxiety symptoms. This has inspired me to learn more about autism, ADHD, and other comorbid conditions of autism and ADHD.
Over the years, I have accumulated 9 years of experience in this field. My formal education includes a degree in Special Educational Needs and Childhood Studies, where I focused on autism and ADHD-related topics in my assignments.
Currently, I am a Specialist Autism and ADHD Tutor with Anchor Tutors and also work as a Specialist ADHD and Autism Mentor, supporting university students with various challenges unique to autism and ADHD, such as sensory issues, communication difficulties, task management, and leveraging their strengths and learning styles.
In my spare time, I enjoy participating in sports, engaging in diverse conversations, and expanding my knowledge through continuous learning.

I begin with an initial assessment to learn about each student's strengths, challenges, special interests, dislikes, and triggers. Building a positive relationship is essential, so I dedicate the first few lessons to fostering trust and rapport through conversations and number-focused games like Snakes and Ladders or Connect Four.
Once a solid foundation is established, I tailor my approach based on the student's current level, focusing initially on topics where they feel confident to boost their self-esteem. As we progress, I gradually introduce new skills and knowledge, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated.
While my primary focus is on Maths topics up to Key Stage 2, I am also experienced in teaching Social and Emotional Education, as well as PE or Sports and Wellbeing to support the development of both gross and fine motor skills and other physical skills.
