About David
I am an expert in story and I've been tutoring students at university for over 4 years. I've worked successfully with both Australian and International students. My skills in understanding and applying storytelling techniques were formed at an early age. My father was an old-school projectionist at the cinema. It was a tough job, working long hours through the afternoon and evening showing movies. A benefit of his work was my sister, brother, and I gained free entry to the cinema to see movies! In this way, the cinema became my babysitter, my summer holidays destination, and the place to go when it was raining (which in Edinburgh UK where I was brought up, is nearly every day). In this way, I watched hundreds, possibly thousands of films in my formative years. Through this process, I came to understand how stories are constructed, how they are told, and their potential impact on the audience. I am now a skilled and passionate storyteller, and I'd like to share my skills and knowledge with you.

I provide personalised one-on-one lessons based on the writing projects you're working on, and your upcoming assessments and exams. I firmly believe practice makes things, if not perfect, then significantly better. With this in mind I offer constant feedback on your work.
All lessons go for 1 hour and are taught online via Zoom.
