About Fatima
I’m currently studying for a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology at university in the UK, but English has always been a personal passion of mine. From school to now, I’ve loved reading, annotating, and exploring all kinds of literature—books, poetry, and even song lyrics. I spend much of my free time engaging with texts, dissecting themes, and thinking about how literature reflects life and human emotion.
I believe that English literature is a beautiful way to explore life, understand human emotions, and appreciate culture and the arts. It allows us to slow down, reflect, and dive into the deeper meaning of our experiences.
I want to teach because I hope to share this passion with students. I understand that English literature can sometimes feel challenging at school, and not everyone finds it easy to analyse texts or express their ideas in writing. My goal is to help students see the beauty in literature, improve their understanding and confidence, and excel academically, all while fostering a love for reading and critical thinking.

My Approach to Tutoring and How I Teach
I like to start with a free trial session to get to know the student and build a positive connection. I believe that when we get along, learning becomes more enjoyable and effective, and it also helps the student feel comfortable showing up to lessons consistently. During this first session, we can also assess the student’s current level and needs, and work together to create a personalised learning plan.
In terms of my teaching methods, I focus on making literature engaging and accessible, helping students understand texts, analyse key themes and characters, develop strong writing skills as well as guiding students on how to study for English Literature - as study methods can be unlike other subjects. Lessons are interactive and tailored to each student, so we can focus on exam preparation, essay writing, or general confidence with English literature.
Lessons can range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s availability and learning goals.
I achieved an A in GCSE English Literature and a high B at A-Level English Literature. I also have volunteer tutoring experience at school, where I helped students across various levels improve their understanding and skills.
I tutor students of all levels, from GCSE to A-Level, and can tailor lessons to suit individual needs, whether it’s exam preparation, coursework support, or general improvement in English literature skills.

Fatima is very nice and super helpful. Her knowledge of English literature is vast, and my experience with her was excellent, as she helped me to revise "Of Mice and Men," as well as poetry and exam techniques. 10/10 would recommend.
Fatima taught both me and my cousin recently, and I would greatly recommend her! Even though I find it really boring, she helped me find some interest and understand how to properly structure my essays for good marks. She is super sweet and an amazing teacher in my book! She got me through my English high school career because I now know how to do well in an efficient manner. One thing I really appreciate about her is how patient she was with me, and my cousin said she found very innovative ways to help her too!
