Having only some minor musical experience on the flute from before, I started with Ana from near zero on the clarinet, to which she has helped me a lot with coming to grips with the instrument. My choice in Ana was greatly influenced by my desire to learn through music I like, which for me is the undefinable “world music”—Ana has been great for this! She’s introduced me to new tunes and taught me to play them as well as using them as a basis for teaching me some music theory. Moreover, whenever I’ve brought questions arising between lessons (for example some melody in a tune I’ve listened to), she’s always been ready to explore it with me. Highly recommend!

Ana María is an excellent clarinet teacher. She is very responsive to her students and what and how they want to learn. I loved learning tunes by ear and always looked forward to our lessons. If Ana María was still in London, I’d 100% still be having lessons with her!
