About Alex
I am a 3rd year psychology student with a passion for teaching, art and (naturally) psychology. I have experience tutoring and working with students from 11-18 years old and emphasise a goals based and reflective approach to achieving your academic goals. Lesson approach and methodology:
-Tailored revision plan creation (setting weekly targets and review sessions aiming to maximise revision efficiency)
-Revision sessions (using techniques such as blurting, Feynman technique and others).
-Examination preparation (past papers, feedback on work).
-Going further (critical analysis skills, review of psychology literature relevant to studies).
-Essay writing support (structure, use of writing tools such as PEEL, (for EPQ referencing).
-Art tutoring (drawing / painting skills, critical reflections portfolio building).
Session length:
-Standard lessons are 60 minutes long.
-For more time, 120 minute lessons are also available.
My qualifications:
-3 years' experience as an undergraduate in psychology with a clinical focus, maintaining distinction level of work.
-Previous work as a teaching assistant and mentor for students aged 11-18.
-Experience working with neurodivergence, with speciality in supporting students with dyslexia.
-Study of art for over 12 years from GCSE to the completion of an extended diploma in art design and media practice at a distinction level.
Lesson Audience:
-For students from 11-18 doing GCSEs, A-Levels or a BTEC in Psychology / Art and general study support.
