About Martin
I have 25 years experience working as a full-time Senior Lecturer in Fine Art teaching drawing, life-drawing and all forms of painting. My teaching is person centred and focused on the acquisition of hand skills, historical/contextual awareness, art theory and philosophy.

My teaching is grounded in knowing oneself or the self as found object wherein lived experience informs studio practice.
Sessions range from 30mins - 1hr and are for artists aged 18 years and over.
I am qualified to PhD level and a graduate of Glasgow School of Art (BA Hons), Winchester School of Art (MA), Dusseldorf Kunstakademie (Guest Student) and Cumbria Inst. of the Arts (PhD). I am a recipient of The Elizabeth Greenshields Award For Drawing, The Glasgow School of Art Travel Award, The Hospitalfield Residency and The Guradian Newspaper Drawing Prize.
