About Melissa
I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, a Master's Degree in Recreation Ecology. I have worked in biology-related outdoor professions, where projects included identifying native and invasive plants, and recommending strategies for controlling invasive plants. Additionally, I created a protocol for rating the sustainability of hiking trails based on erosion, width, and other factors. I and have taught several university courses of up to 70 students, including Outdoor Leadership, Ecology, and Biology Lab.
