About Adam
About Me I’m Adam, a physicist with a First-Class MPhys from the University of Manchester and four years of experience teaching physics at secondary level. Before teaching, I worked as a Development Engineer at Nexperia Semiconductors, applying physics and data analysis to real-world technology challenges. I’m now completing a PhD on 2D materials for sustainable technologies. Teaching is where I’ve found the greatest satisfaction — helping students go from uncertainty to confidence and achieve results they didn’t think possible. My approach focuses on clear explanations, problem-solving, and building a genuine understanding of how physics works. I tutor GCSE and A-level students who want to make real progress — whether that’s moving from a grade 5 to a 9 or from a D to an A*. My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to help every student reach their full potential.

My Approach to Tutoring I focus on helping students truly understand the ideas behind physics, not just memorise facts. My lessons combine clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and plenty of exam practice. I adapt my teaching to each student’s strengths and learning style, using targeted feedback to build confidence and mastery. Lesson Structure Each session lasts one hour, with a balance of theory review, worked examples, and guided practice. I set short follow-up tasks to reinforce learning and track progress over time. Experience & Qualifications I’m a former physics teacher with 4 years of classroom experience teaching KS3 and KS4, and 3 years as a private tutor, specialising in A-level and GCSE physics. I’m currently studying for a PhD, continuing my passion for the subject. Who I Teach I work with GCSE and A-level students who want to push their grades higher — for example, aiming to move from a grade 5 to 9 at GCSE, or from a D to an A* at A-level. My goal is to help every student reach their full potential through focused, engaging, and supportive lessons.

Adam has been wonderful in helping my daughter reach her full potential!
️️️️️Adam has been extremely helpful and accommodating with my daughter in the run-up to her GCSEs. She was very unsure about tutoring before meeting Adam but has come on leaps and bounds.
