About Tammy
I am a fourth-year medical student with a strong background in biology, biomedical sciences, and research. Before medical school, I earned my bachelor’s degree and developed extensive experience working with students from a variety of academic backgrounds. I also have my Master's in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in pharmacology. I have tutored high school, college, graduate, and GED students, helping students strengthen their understanding of difficult material and successfully complete their courses.
My medical training has given me an even deeper understanding of biology and its real-world applications. I am patient, approachable, and PASSIONATE about helping students build confidence in science while developing study and problem-solving skills they can carry into future courses. I hope our sessions encourage you to enjoy science too!

My approach to biology tutoring focuses on helping students understand concepts rather than simply memorize information. I break complex topics into manageable pieces, use real-world examples, and adjust my teaching style based on each student’s needs.
I have experience tutoring students at the high school, college, and graduate levels and helping students successfully improve their understanding and performance in their courses. Lessons can include reviewing challenging concepts, working through practice questions, preparing for exams, or reinforcing material from class.
As a fourth-year medical student, I also bring a strong background in the biological sciences and can help students understand how foundational biology concepts connect to more advanced topics in science and medicine.

Tammy tutored me during my accelerated nursing program last summer. My schedule was crazy, but she always made herself available to work with me. She truly went above and beyond! She introduced me to Anki and even took the time to make personalized Anki decks to help me study. She would also check in with me throughout the week to see how studying was going and if there was anything I needed help with.
Tammy has a way of breaking down complex topics. Before working with her, I hated microbio and couldn't imagine finding a way to get all that info into my head but her real world examples really made learning the material less intimidating. She’s also funny and would come up with silly acronyms and memory tricks that actually made the material stick. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I can’t recommend her enough!!View more recommendations
