About the lesson

I am in my fourth year studying Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, having achieved First Class Honours in each of my first three years. I have experience teaching Mathematics at a range of different levels and will be teaching in a university next year alongside pursuing a PhD in Pure Mathematics.

I have 2 years experience tutoring pupils in schools in Cambridge as well as undergraduates in my college. I have also worked on the Sutton Trust Summer Schools the last two summers as well as on the STEP Easter School (a course preparing students for the entrance exams in Mathematics), where I gave online tutoring to 10 students after the residential with 4 of them getting a place at the university. I also spent two months working on resources for the website Underground Mathematics (linked to NRICH).

Outside of tutoring and my degree, I am currently starting work as a coauthor for the new series of A-level textbooks set to be released by Pearson (Edexcel) and will be spending my summer teaching Number Theory on a highly-competitive summer camp in China (near Shanghai).

When learning a subject like Mathematics, I believe it is crucial to for students to be convinced of how interesting and creative a subject it can be. That is why I often like to discuss with my students where they think the material they are learning might be applied outside the classroom, and encourage them to think for themselves.
