Julien is an amazing tutor. He is very personal in his lesson planning approach and makes sure that I always get what I need out of our lessons. I, myself, am a high school French teacher and I learn new things from him all the time.

I warmly recommend Julien as a french tutor. I studied French in college for two years but have forgotten much of my grammar. I wanted to focus on my listening and oral communication since I am looking to move to France in one or two years. My first two lessons with Julien so far have been very helpful. I can’t speak highly enough of Julien. When you learn by simply memorising a bunch of stuff, it’s easy to forget. However, once you understand something, it sticks with you. I am thrilled to have found a tutor who makes this challenging language make sense without my brain turning to jelly. Julien is friendly and patient; good at detecting skill levels and adjusting the pace of each exercise accordingly. His articulation is solid and when he slows down his speech for comprehension, he doesn’t lose the cadence (musicality of speech), which I find especially useful: before Julien’s tutoring sessions, during my time in France, even if I had learnt what someone was saying, the cadence would throw me off and I would miss the phrase. I returned to France 5 days ago. This time around, I have the confidence to use what I have learnt, and to try and say things when I don’t yet know how to fully craft the sentence, which means that I’m learning a lot more. This newfound confidence of mine definitely has something to do with the tutoring sessions. Julien’s lessons are systematic, but without being stuffy and dry; the context of communication between human beings is never lost. Julien est un très bon professeur de français.

I’ve been studying french for quite a while and honestly nobody helped me better than Julien! I was struggling with pronunciation and grammar mainly, but now i’m improving and it’s only the 6th or 7th class. i like the method he uses. Reading writing and listening along with the very helpful material.

Julien is so fabulous! He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. He has great energy and very encouraging. I am an adult learning and he is adaptive to my needs, which I pretty much need everything!
