About WanChu

Hi! I'm a friendly and patient tutor with a background in healthcare and a passion for helping others learn.

Before becoming a tutor, I worked as a nurse in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Taiwan for over five years. This experience taught me the importance of patience, clear communication and explaining things in a calm and supportive way.

I understand that maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially if you've struggled with it in the past. I believe everyone learns differently, and there's no such thing as a silly question!

My aim is to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence.

I particularly enjoy helping beginners understand maths through simple explanations and step-by-step guidance. Whether you're a parent looking for support for your child or an adult hoping to improve your maths skills, I'd be happy to help!

About the lesson

My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning pace.

I focus on building confidence and helping students understand basic mathematical concepts rather than simply memorising formulas.

Topics I can help with include:
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Fractions, decimals and percentages
- Ratios and proportions
- Basic problem-solving
- Everyday numeracy and unit conversions
- Building confidence in mathematics

I welcome primary school pupils and adult learners who would like to strengthen their basic maths skills.

My approach is patient and encouraging. We will work through examples together, practise step by step and focus on areas where you need extra support. Whether you're returning to education or simply looking to improve your maths confidence, I'm happy to help!

I’ve known WanChu since nursing school and have always been impressed by her patience, responsibility and clear communication. Working in healthcare requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex information calmly and clearly — qualities she naturally has.

She’s organised, supportive and very dependable, and I believe these traits make her an excellent tutor, especially for students who need patient guidance and confidence in maths.

I’ve known WanChu for many years, and we’ve often worked through maths and data analysis problems together. What really stands out is how clearly and patiently she explains each step. While some people can jump straight to the answer, she takes the time to break things down in a structured way so others can truly understand the process.

She’s calm, logical and very supportive, which makes her a natural and reliable tutor. I’m sure students will feel comfortable learning with her.
