About Jenny
When it comes to language I am full of nerdy joy. I studied a combined course in German and English Literature at university and I speak German to a C1/C2 standard. I have studied and worked in Germany, my ex partner was German, many of my friends are German - so as well as having learned the language in an academic context (grammar tables etc!) I also have a great grip on authentic, conversational and native-style German.
I'm currently studying a poetry MA in Norwich and am hoping to spend my free time spreading my love of German and helping others buff up their language skills.
I've plenty of experience with mentoring and tutoring, offering language help in both English and German. I'm happy to help with whatever you like - grammar, vocabulary, conversation practice, or an all-round approach.

I am a naturally enthusiastic, passionate and patient teacher. Watching students learn, understand and improve gives me a real happiness.
I'm very happy to be guided by you in terms of teaching format - this is because everyone learns differently and everyone will be at a slightly different level of German, from complete beginner to nearly proficient.
I will therefore tailor not only the setting of sessions (your place, a coffee shop, online...) but also the content to each individual.
To give you an idea of what I could offer, an all-round approach might look like this: chatting away casually in German, watching and discussing news items, reading articles or chapters of books, revising tricky grammar points, listening to German music and unpicking lyrics - anything that covers the bases of speaking, listening, writing and reading. (I'm also very likely to teach you bucketfuls of idioms, because who doesn't love idioms?)

As a native German speaker I'm always pleasantly surprised by Jenny's use of idioms and by her excellent pronunciation. I have witnessed situations where people mistook her for a native German speaker and asked her which part of Germany she is from! I have known Jenny for several years, and I have seen the results of her hard work and dedication to practicing German. She is a very patient and committed person and is passionate about the German language. I would highly recommend Jenny to anyone!
I met Jenny during her Erasmus in Germany and we have been friends ever since! She is a lovely person and I'm sure you will get along great.
