About Sophie
I graduated in 2021 from the University of Birmingham with a master's degree in Computer Science. Since then I have been working as a software developer, mainly in web development. I have used technologies such as React, Javascript, HTML/CSS, C# (ASP.net), and Python.
Alongside software development, I have tutored through a website called My Tutor. During this time I tutored KS3 and GCSE Mathematics, for which I prepared creative slideshows and fun exercises to engage my tutees with the material.

I like to tailor my classes to the student. For example if my student is a visual learner I might use more powerpoint presentations and diagrams. I always like to be prepared for each session and frequently ask for feedback to make sure that students are learning, covering topics they feel they need help on and last but not least are enjoying the sessions.
In order to conduct my online sessions, I will use collaborative programming tools, such as VS code live share, and online whiteboard spaces such as (concealed information)
I have recently discovered that I am neurodivergent (Autistic and ADHD). I think that this would make a particularly great fit for a neurodivergent tutee, as I realize that everyone learns in different ways. If my student doesn't understand something one way, I will work with them to find a learning style that matches their needs.
