About Favio
Hello, I am Favio, a 28-year-old math teacher from Cornwall (in the UK). I am passionate about teaching and providing bespoke educational support for students to enhance and improve their understanding of math. I am a keen surfer and snowboarder and enjoy all things outdoors. I love helping people to see the real-world application of math and bring the fun and curiosity into a subject that students often find challenging. I have taught full time in UK schools for the last four years, working with classes of up to 30 students as well as one-on-one tutoring courses. I have lots of experience in helping to support students with exam preparation or with subject consolidation.

Hello, My approach to teaching Math is to make it more accessible and engaging for you as the student. I believe people learn better when the content is relevant and specific. Tailoring your lessons to meet your learning needs will enhance your overall experience. A typical lesson plan would involve a varied starter to warm you up and include a retrieval practice for any topics we had recently done. This helps to strengthen the long-term memory and recall of specific mathematical topics. We would then cover the chosen topic you want to work on, with effective questioning throughout to assess understanding. We will often end on an exit ticket that draws on possible misconceptions and ensures that learning goals have been hit. I have extensive experience teaching in UK schools and I am a fully qualified secondary school math teacher (ages 11-16). I pride myself on helping to engage students with this subject who might otherwise find it difficult to progress. These lessons are for all ages up to 16. They can be tailored to support in-class learning or for specific exam preparation.
