About Vansh
Hi, I'm Vansh — a GCSE Computer Science tutor with a genuine passion for helping students get to grips with the subject and hit the grades they're aiming for.
I got a Grade 9 in GCSE OCR Computer Science myself, along with 8s and 9s across my other subjects, so I know the course inside out. I'm currently studying Aerospace Engineering at the National Space Academy, which keeps me sharp when it comes to problem-solving and thinking through technical ideas clearly.
I specialise in the full GCSE Computer Science specification, with a particular focus on Python and building the kind of exam-ready understanding that actually translates into marks on the day. My approach is straightforward: I'd much rather a student genuinely understands a concept than just memorises it. When something clicks, everything else becomes easier — and that's the moment I find most rewarding about tutoring.
I'm used to explaining tricky ideas in a way that makes sense, breaking things down step by step until they feel logical rather than overwhelming. Whether it's a tough theory topic, a confusing bit of Python, or just figuring out how to approach exam questions, I enjoy working through it together.
I teach students who want structured support and a tutor who actually knows the pressures of the course. Whether you're pushing for a 9 or just trying to build a solid foundation, I'll adapt to where you are and where you want to get to.

My Teaching Style
I teach in a structured way, but it never feels like just working through a checklist. Everything I cover ties directly to the OCR GCSE Computer Science specification, so students always know why they're learning something and exactly how it'll come up in the exam.
Rather than asking students to memorise things parrot-fashion, I focus on helping them genuinely understand the logic behind each topic. Lessons usually include walkthroughs of worked examples, hands-on Python practice, and exam technique training — so students build both confidence and accuracy along the way.
The core of my approach comes down to a few key things: teaching the spec properly, using active recall and spaced repetition to make knowledge stick, and practising with mark-scheme-aligned questions so students know how to pick up marks when it counts.
Lesson Length
Each session runs for one hour — long enough to cover explanation, guided practice, and exam-style questions without the lesson ever dragging.
My Background
I got a Grade 9 in GCSE OCR Computer Science and 8s and 9s across the rest of my subjects (French aside!). I'm now studying Aerospace Engineering at the National Space Academy, with predicted As and A*s in A-Level Maths and Physics and a Distinction in my Engineering BTEC. Having studied these subjects recently means I know exactly where students get stuck — and how to explain things clearly to get them unstuck.
Who I Teach
My lessons are for GCSE Computer Science students on the OCR specification, usually aged 13–16. I work with students chasing top grades as well as those who just want to feel more confident with Python or get their head around the theory. I adapt to each student's level and goals, so there's no one-size-fits-all approach.
What to Expect
Clear explanations, structured revision, and plenty of exam practice. My aim is simple: by the end of working together, students should understand the full specification, feel comfortable in exam conditions, and be genuinely more confident in their ability to perform.
