About Gabriella

I’m a passionate Design & Technology and Food Technology teacher with 6 years of experience working in secondary schools and teaching students through to GCSE level.

I have a First-Class degree in Product Design and, before becoming a teacher, gained experience working abroad as well as working professionally in graphic design and research. I love being creative and particularly enjoy helping young people develop their confidence, ideas and understanding of design.

Having taught GCSE students for several years, I understand the challenges students can face with both coursework and exams. I enjoy making topics feel more manageable and helping students recognise exactly what they need to do to improve.

I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and getting things wrong – it’s all part of learning!

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is friendly, supportive and tailored to each student. I focus on building confidence while identifying gaps in knowledge and breaking difficult topics down into clear, manageable steps. Lessons combine explanation, worked examples, questioning and exam-style practice, with a strong focus on developing the skills needed to gain marks at GCSE.

A typical lesson is 60 minutes and will be planned around the individual student’s needs, whether they need ongoing support, help with a particular topic, exam preparation or guidance with their NEA/coursework.
