About Anna
I am a graduate from the University of Oxford with a German and Italian degree. In the third year of my course I spent 5 months in Munich and 7 months in Siena improving my language skills. This year, I am moving to Florence for work, but would like to continue teaching languages online. I believe in the fundamental importance of language learning, and feel that in the UK, these skills are in short-supply. I understand that it can be difficult to learn a new language, and in a classroom full of students, it's hard for an individual to feel supported. That's why I believe that my one-on-one lessons can really help piece together the things that the student has been struggling to understand in class and help them approach their exams with more confidence. As much as I can, I would like to inspire students to see the amazing personal and professional opportunities that can result from speaking foreign languages.

I like to tailor lessons to an individual's learning style, offering lessons between half an hour and two hours, depending on their concentration levels. With 4 years of tutoring experience, I have taught a wide variety of students of varying levels and helped all of them feel more confident with their language abilities, increase their vocabulary and grammatical understanding. I like to include a variety of activities in my lessons, from reading interesting articles and listening to podcasts, to covering important grammar points and doing translations to practice them. I can also offer support with speaking German as well as reading, listening, writing and translating. I always welcome feedback from the student to find out what they're finding useful and what I can do to help them more. I like to include little quizzes to check the student's progress and am always sure to keep revisiting points that I know they find tricky to help them feel more confident.
