About Alicia
My name is Alicia, I'm 25 years old and am doing my postgraduate law degree here in beautiful Cape Town. I grew up in the South-Western part of Germany and did my law studies in Cologne.
I've always been fascinated by languages and believe that learning or improving a language is incredibly rewarding. Having lived in the U.S. as child for three years and again as a teenager in France and the U.S. for an exchange, I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language at first, but also know that it's worth it! What helped my a lot was having motivating teachers, friends and family around me, which is why I want to give that back.

Being German and having studied law in Germany, I have a very broad understanding of the German language. In my opinion, one can only successfully learn a language when speaking it, regardless of what mistakes you make in the process of learning. That's why my approach is to try to speak as much German as possible from the beginning on rather than limiting sessions to working through abstract German books. The key is to combine both the theoretical and practical approach, and I guarantee it will be fun!

Perfect! Alicia is excellent. She has been tutoring a 6-year-old first-language speaker at Liberté International School and she is a natural teacher.
Perfect! My lesson with Alicia was a lot of fun- it was very interesting hearing her perspectives as German law student and also hearing about her life studying in South Africa. She's a very nice person, and I look forward to our next lesson.

Awesome teacher, makes learning super fun!
During her high school years, Alicia had several tutoring students whom she guided to strong improvements with enthusiasm, competence, and commitment. Alicia has the ability to transfer knowledge to her students and to empower them to use their strengths.
I highly recommend Alicia. She has a deep and well-founded knowledge - not only for the German language. In addition, she has a very likeable, pleasant and patient personality and, thanks to her many years of experience, has the necessary didactic knowledge.
Alicia is a trustworthy tutor because she is a very intelligent person with a great attitude. She is very empathetic and patient with other people and cares a lot about others. Alicia also has a lot of tutoring experience and her students have always profited from her ability to explain complex matters in an understandable way.
