About Asuka
Hi, I'm Asuka! I'm a passionate Japanese teacher living in Canada, a language-learning enthusiast (currently learning German, Spanish, and French!), and a sports lover who enjoys exploring new skills and challenges in life. Now, let me tell you about my love for my mother tongue—Japanese! Many people say that Japanese is one of the hardest languages to master (and I have to agree—it’s a little crazy!). But once you reach an advanced level, it becomes one of the most fun languages to speak. Why? Because Japanese is incredibly flexible in how you express things! For example, people often say, "Japanese people never say no." But actually, we do—just in so many subtle ways that others don’t always notice! Isn’t that both funny and fascinating? My goal is to help you reach that level—where you can truly immerse yourself in the culture and language. And don’t worry—I will never say no to helping you improve your Japanese!

Perfect! I've had about 8 in-person 1 hour lessons with Asuka and she's the best! She's really patient and good at explaining things. We work together on how to make classes more engaging and suited to my type of learning. I leave every lesson feeling like I've learned something valuable and I'm always looking forward to the next one. 10/10!
Perfect! Asuka Sensei is a great teacher, and the way she speaks Japanese is very easy to understand, in my opinion. She took my current level, goals, and concerns into consideration, so I felt like the lesson was tailored to my personal needs.
