About Angelina
Hello fellow students! I am a 4.0 high school senior with 3 years of tutoring experience within my local high school community. I can assist with various high school courses as well as assistance with writing scholarship and college essays. I have won nearly 20,000 dollars in scholarships within the past two years for my college education and have received various awards from my high school for best creative writing pieces. Greetings! For our first session, we'll go over the material you need help on and define what sections could use improvement.
If you know what you are struggling in, we can also concentrate on improving those skills and jump right in. I can also assist with specialized assignment tutoring as well.
Some techniques I enjoy using with my students are dual active learning and google-slide documents. For dual active learning, I begin with teaching the student the difficulties they are struggling with, then allowing them to complete a small portion so I can actively give feedback on whether they are headed in the learning direction. What typically helps individuals understand the material that seems difficult is talking about your thought process so we can identify where needs improvement.
What has worked for my students in the past has been making them google slides after our session and sending it over for future reference as our minds tend to forget short term information we typically learn within 1 hour tutoring sessions. Active engagement with material is the easiest way to be able to remember and hold on to core concepts we need for learning and improving!
I am knowledgeable in nearly all high school courses including AP/IB classes, and English Competition 1 college courses.
