About Laura
I am a veteran teacher of seventeen years, all of which have been in some of the largest high schools in the state of Nebraska (2000+ students). Because of this, I have experience with a great range of curriculum and student learning styles.
I have a master's of arts in gifted learning and I am working on additional master's hours in English education to be able to teach at the collegiate level. I have a background in ACT preparation in both English and Reading.

As a tutor and a classroom teacher, I prefer to meet students where their needs are. I emphasize daily reading and writing.
In my real-life classroom, students begin each class period with an "Inspo Instant" - a time to be inspired by their reading or their writing. My students see me for a block of 90 minutes, so I try to include transitions between other activities. We like to listen to music as we work.
