About Ria
My name is Ria Tanaka, I am currently an onstage swing in 'The King and I' at The Dominion on the West End. Previously I was also in the ensemble and cover Cinderella in Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Cinderella' at The Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester. I have always had a passion for sharing knowledge and helping and inspiring people to become better versions of themselves. I love working with passionate performers as well as children, and nothing makes me prouder than watching students grow, improve and achieve their dreams.

Together we can work on either an all-round approach to Musical Theatre or on individual disciplines depending on what you would like to work towards. I am available to help you with acting monologue work, acting through song and even dance audition prep. Over the course of 10 years that I attended ArtsEd in London I trained on the acting, dance and musical theatre courses giving me a well-rounded knowledge of different techniques to use in my teaching. Having only graduated a couple of years ago, my knowledge of drama school and dance college audition processes are very up to date. Also being very successful in these auditions being offered multiple scholarships, I feel confident and inspired to share my knowledge, tips and tricks. I also currently teach at the drama school, 'Perform' working with children aged 4-12. Students of this age group are also very very welcome if they would like private tutoring for LAMDA exams, singing exams or even auditions for both school and professional productions. Lessons can be 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on what works best for you. I am available for weekly lessons or one-off lessons depending on what your goals are.
