Teaching Techniques — Emphasize discussion-based sessions to make lessons engaging and participatory, mainly utilizing the Socratic method by asking open-ended questions in order to encourage and develop critical thinking skills. Lesson Plans — I tailor my lessons based on each student’s learning style (visual, auditory, or kinesthetic) and their learning goals. I also like to incorporate cultural and professional contexts if students need English for specific purposes (e.g., academic writing, business communication). This usually looks like: -Introduction / Warm up Activity (5-15 min) My favorites are brain dumps or quick writing prompts to activate prior knowledge - Core lesson (30-45 min) Consists of three main parts, explanations, example, and practice. - Real Life Application (10-15 min) Discuss how the concept applies in real-world scenarios. I also like to assign a related task, such as summarizing an article, for homework, which can then be discussed in the warm up of the next lesson. -Wrap Up (10-15 min) Review key points and address questions, assign homework if needed. What sets me apart — I think one of my main strengths is that I am a college graduate who studied English as well as I have a lot of experience tutoring and working with students of all ages. This helps me make my lesson plans super creative while being as patient as possible while helping students master certain topics! Who are my lessons for — Degree/Level: - Elementary to Undergraduate students who need to improve academic or professional English skills. -Adults preparing for standardized tests like TOEFL, IELTS, or GRE. -Advanced learners seeking to refine their English fluency. ESL (English as a Second Language) learners aiming for better integration into academic or professional environments. -Academic Writing: Essays, research papers, and critical analysis. -Business English: Emails, presentations, and negotiation skills. Conversational English: Pronunciation, vocabulary expansion, and cultural nuances. -Scientific English: Learning the structure and language type of writing scientific papers / articles.
