About Jordan
I am a UCLA graduate in geography/environmental studies, with a love and passion for our physical environment and the natural world we see everyday. Since I've been in school, Ive always loved working with others to understand concepts in school, and that is why I have continued to tutor as Ive gone through my academics. I believe reaching people through education allows both the tutor and student to do the most important thing we can do for ourselves to grow, which is to expand our education and our mind in order to deepen our understanding of the world we live in.

I believe in ainteractive approach to tutoring that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills tailored for each individual students learning style. My approach would begin by assessing the students current understanding of the subject through discussion, followed with setting specific achievable goals that will guide our session in a timely matter. Customizing the lesson plans based on the students goals and learning styles is essential to create a safe learning environment that allows the student to enhance comprehension and engagement. Creating an interactive learning environment is important to me in order to allow the student to critically think and problem solve, while allowing space to make and correct mistakes. At the end of the lesson, providing constuctive feedback and positive reinforcement will encourage the student to improve in necessary areas, while fostering a feeling of growth towards becoming an independent learner. Regularly communicating the effectiveness of our sessions will also allow for me to constantly readjust my lesson strategies.
I have worked with almost all grades, from k-college level. I feel most confident in math, but also excel in science and Englishsubjects.
