About Jess
I have a passion for teaching English Language Arts and Mathematics to elementary students. My fourth grade team had the highest data in our school for the 21-22 school year, growing the percentage of students proficient on the EOG from 8% in 20-21 to 39% this year. We also made substantial growth on the Math EOG from last year to this year. I believe every student can experience growth and success when matched with the appropriate tutor who can meet them where they are.

I take a student-centered approach to learning where I am the facilitator for the students' learning. However, the student and I play an equally active role in the learning process. A typical lesson will consist of 3 parts: I do, we do, you do. I will introduce the strategy and model how it is used, then the student and I will try it together, then the student will try it independently. I believe I am a worthy candidate as I have experience in elementary education and am able to individualize instruction to meet each students' needs. I am licensed to teach grades K-6.
