About Clare
Mālō e lelei everyone,
My name is Clare Tutuila. I am a recent graduate with a degree in Education and I am currently completing my Master’s in Education, majoring in Pacific Education. I am also a proud mom to two beautiful children, an infant and a toddler.
I have a strong passion for learning and for education policy, particularly policies that impact Pacific and Māori learners. I am passionate about ensuring our young people have access to learning that reflects who they are and where they come from.
The reason I am offering tutoring is to provide an affordable service for Pacific and Māori students so they can gain the most from their education. My lessons incorporate Pacific and Māori-based learning approaches, helping students strengthen their knowledge, confidence, and academic skills in a culturally supportive environment.

I offer literacy tutoring for students in Years 1–13, with a focus on supporting Pacific and Māori learners. Lessons are designed to strengthen reading, writing, comprehension, and overall confidence in learning.
Sessions are guided by culturally responsive teaching approaches, incorporating Pacific and Māori perspectives, values, and learning styles to create a supportive and relatable environment for students.
NCEA support is also available, including help with understanding assessments, improving writing skills, and preparing for internal and external exams.
Lessons are available 1:1 or in small groups, either online (Zoom) or in person.
