As a tutor, I believe that every student can succeed when they’re given the tools, structure, and support that match their way of learning. My approach is grounded in patience, empathy, and evidence-informed learning strategies, shaped by my background as a teaching assistant and graduate student in Exercise Science at Concordia University. I use active recall and spaced repetition, both scientifically backed strategies to boost retention. I guide students through step-by-step problem solving to help them understand why, not just how. I incorporate visual aids, analogies, and real-world examples to make complex science or math concepts more relatable. For students who struggle with focus or organization, I integrate light coaching on study skills, time management, and test-taking strategies. A Typical Lesson Plan Looks Like This: Check-In (5 mins): Review goals and how the student is feeling about the subject. Review (10 mins): Go over last session’s material or a past assignment/test. New Content (25 mins): Focused breakdown of new material or help with homework problems. Practice (15 mins): Work through questions together and then independently. Wrap-Up (5 mins): Identify key takeaways + what to prepare for next time. What Sets Me Apart Academic Credibility: I’m a Master's student (MSc) in Exercise Science and have worked as a teaching assistant in anatomy, physiology, and behavioral science courses. Experience with Teens: I’ve tutored high school and CEGEP students for over 5 years, tailoring sessions to different learning styles and attention spans. Friendly & Structured: I create a comfortable space for students to ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence, while staying organized and focused on their goals. Who Are My Lessons For? High school students (Secondary 3, 4, 5 / Grade 9–11) CEGEP students in science-heavy programs Students struggling with science, math, or test anxiety Teens preparing for final exams or needing better study habits Both English and bilingual students (I teach in English or French!)
