About Kazi Ranjibul
I am a graduate student in the Physics Department at the University of Minnesota, where I work on theoretical condensed matter physics—exploring how the collective behavior of many particles gives rise to fascinating emergent phenomena. Over the years, I have taught and mentored many students, both in university courses and through personal tutoring, in mathematics and physics. I believe the best way to learn these subjects is to first build a clear, intuitive picture—stripping away unnecessary jargon—before connecting it to the rigorous mathematical framework. My strength lies in taking concepts that might seem intimidating at first and explaining them in a way that feels natural and logical, and then showing how mathematics captures their essence precisely. I want my students to not only solve problems but also understand why the solutions work, so they can approach new challenges with confidence and creativity. Whether we’re discussing basic algebra or quantum mechanics, my goal is the same: to make the abstract concrete, and the complex simple—without losing depth.

When it comes to learning math and physics, the biggest hurdle is often not the complexity of the subject itself, but how it is explained. Many students feel lost because they are either given oversimplified stories that lack depth, or buried under abstract mathematics without a clear physical picture. My teaching approach bridges this gap.
I specialize in taking ideas that might seem abstract or intimidating—whether it’s quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, or advanced mathematics—and explaining them in plain, intuitive language first. I want my students to see the concept before we start working through the equations. Once the idea feels natural, I guide them into the mathematics, showing how the rigorous framework emerges from the intuition. This way, the math is not just a set of symbols, but a precise language that confirms and quantifies what they already understand.
Over the years, I’ve found that this two-step approach—first simplicity and clarity, then mathematical precision—not only helps students understand more deeply, but also builds their confidence in tackling new and unfamiliar topics. With me, you will not just memorize formulas; you will learn to think like a physicist and a mathematician, connecting clear ideas to solid, rigorous reasoning.
