About Curtis

I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Physiology, and Bioethics, I have been teaching in some form or another since I was 15 all throughout my own academic career, and I have not looked back. In working with thousands of students of all ages in a wide variety of subjects, environments, and curriculums, I have come to believe every student can succeed. I'm an energetic speaker, a passionate learner, and (hopefully) your ticket to success.

About the lesson

I like to connect with my students and really let the learners direct the learning. I believe that a rigid approach to education tends to leave even bright and capable students behind sometimes, and that success is often a matter of finding a new perspective. I keep my classes positive and energetic, where my passion for what I teach can hopefully rub off on my students. My passion is in creating "Eureka" moments, injecting all the excitement of a major discovery into the underappreciated small victories of learning a subject.

Curtis is a fantastic tutor, it's entirely thanks to him that I passed my biology course! He's exceedingly patient and actually makes learning (even things I really dislike) enjoyable, and I genuinely like learning even the dullest things from him. He also adjusts his teaching for every student in order for each individual to succeed, regardless of how they learn. Curtis is truly a wonderful tutor, and I couldn't give higher praise to anyone else.
