About Jerry
I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge who studied Mathematics. I realised that a lot of students are afraid of Maths, because once they fall behind in class, it becomes extremely difficult for them to follow the materials in classes and it can be really frustrating. I would like to give them one-on-one support to gradually build the skills and confidence they need to excel in Maths. With my background in Mathematics, I can clearly explain how a student can come up with a solution on their own when they meet an unfamiliar problem, instead of just asking them to memorise the methods. First, I will use diagnostic questions to understand my students' level and their difficulties, whether they are conceptual or arithmetic. Then, I will work out carefully chosen examples, followed by a similarly flavoured question for the student to work on their own to check their understanding. The final part would be to work out some harder and exam-style questions. I will use self-made notes and assign work to students so that they can consolidate the concepts learnt in my class.
