About Beatrice
"Bluegrass was never my initial plan. Instead, I found myself drawn into music through the raw honesty of oral tradition.
My Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance from East Tennessee State University provides a formal backbone to my folk sensibilities. I have taught 242 students over 13 years of experience. My instruction covers tuning and maintenance, lead guitar, blues progressions, chord transitions, music theory, songwriting, reading tabs, and strumming patterns.
Working with performance-focused students, intermediate learners, kids, working professionals, and returning learners keeps my perspective fresh. Sometimes I find myself humming melodies while I make coffee in the morning."

"Sometimes a session feels more like a shared conversation than a lecture. Truthfully, the most important part of the hour is when the student stops thinking and starts playing. We focus on tuning and maintenance, lead guitar, blues progressions, chord transitions, music theory, songwriting, reading tabs, and strumming patterns. My approach utilizes the background I gained while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance.
I offer a monthly recorded review of progress for performance-focused students, intermediate learners, kids, working professionals, and returning learners. This helps us track the subtle shifts in your dexterity over time. It is rewarding to watch a student finally land a difficult transition smoothly. Hearing the improvement is the best part of the job."
