About Carolyn
Pacing keeps the learning process fluid and manageable for busy adults. Consistency is key. I leverage my BMus from the UBC School of Music to break down acoustic technique and power chords into digestible segments. Each lesson includes a practice module to maintain your momentum throughout the week.
Whether you are a returning learner or a performance-focused teen, I adjust the material to match your progress. I emphasize rhythm and theory so that you understand the mechanics behind every note you play. You will find that regular practice becomes a natural part of your routine.

Working professionals often find that music provides a vital release from the demands of their daily careers. Music is essential. Over 365 students have passed through my studio to learn everything from basic tuning and maintenance to complex improvisation. My own journey includes performing in the National Arts Centre Orchestra and running a private studio in Vancouver for 13 years.
I teach rhythm guitar and fingerpicking with a methodical approach that respects your limited time. Reading tabs and sheet music allows us to move beyond simple strumming patterns into actual theory. I look forward to helping you reach your own specific musical milestones.
