About Jamie
Hello everyone! My name is Jamie Sevilla and I am a hardworking and motivated university student seeking to help you learn English! Whether you are looking to help improve your grammar, boost your writing skills, or help writing your essay, I am here every step of the way. I strive for a teaching environment that is efficient, effective, fair, and to work around my students schedule to cater towards what works for them time outside life and work-wise. I take a personalized approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to meet your individual goals and learning style. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine advanced skills, I’m committed to making learning both engaging, effective, and of course not overwhelming or difficult. The most important part of me wanting to tutor, is to help my students. I would love to apply my passion for English and helping others into helping you learn English. I've had the privilege to teach French in the past to many students, and hope to teach again. I focus on building a positive, supportive environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My goal is to help you build not only your skills but also your confidence in using English in both academic and everyday settings. - use lesson plans that curate an easy, understandable, and efficient - will work around my students schedule, outside life, etc and will understand if not all the homework is completed - will listen efficiently, effectively and give my best to assist my student with anything they may need - will understand that everyone learns differently and will adapt to my students most comfortable needs and learning strategies - will go over a topic as many times as the student needs until they fully understand - will never pressure my students to do overwhelming tasks, assignments and homework and will ask what they are comfortable with - catered to high school or elementary kids! -I also understand French :)
