Mahtab Aslam was a student on the MSc Postharvest Technology course at Writtle College from September 2010 to October 2011. This course is validated by our partner institution - University of Essex. Prior to taking this course he had already completed an M. Phil. in his home country. He successfully completed the course and was awarded his MSc at pass level in November 2011.

As is the case with many international students, he took a while to adapt to the English education system. In the first taught term his marks were all in the 'pass' band = 50-59%. However, in the second taught term his module grades were at 'merit' level = 60-69%, demonstrating a clear improvement through the course. I had some contact with him when he was undertaking his MSc dissertation project, and I was impressed by his commitment to the practical element of this study.

During his time on the course I acted as his course manager. I found him to be a committed student, who had ability and interest in the subject area. He was a pleasant student and my memory of him is that he worked well with other students.
