About Carlos

Throughout my studies at McGill University (2016-2021), I have been impressed by the high quality of the academic environment offered by the Schulich School of Music. This has been a source of inspiration to pursue the development of my career as a music educator and help new generations of musicians in their learning development. In early 2000's I started my professional career as a music performer in Mexico City, and from 2008 to 2016, I taught numerous students on a weekly basis, both as an independent studio bass, double bass, music theory, and musicianship teacher.

About the lesson

I offer a way of learning and making music together, providing an open panorama of music styles where you choose and achieve your own goals. An accessible methodology and playful manner, through transparency, respect, and enthusiasm, to enjoy the learning process while building a strong musical foundation.

Carlos was my private student at McGill University when he was studying for his Masters degree. He is a dedicated, passionate, and diligent musician, and he was always very well prepared for his lessons. He was a joy to teach, very collaborative, and open to ideas and the sharing of musical concepts and ideas. I recommend him highly as a teacher.
Sincerely, Fraser Hollins
