About Mike
I have over 15 years worth of real world experience playing concerts and shows for the likes of Disney, West End theatre shows, UK national theatre tours and cruise ships. I've performed on some of the biggest stages in the country, from musical theatre to film scores and rock concerts, and I bring everything I've learned along the way into my teaching.
I know what it takes to stay calm and deliver under pressure, so I'll help you build the confidence to perform at your best, whether that's a school concert or a big audition. I've sight-read new music on short notice and played the same show night after night, so I can teach you practical ways to learn pieces quickly and keep your playing fresh and consistent. Because I've worked across so many styles, I can help you explore whatever excites you, from show tunes to film themes to rock, and show you how each one works in the real world.
I don't just teach what's on the page. I teach what actually works on stage, so you can enjoy your playing and take it as far as you want.
A little bit more about me
I have a Bachelors degree in popular music performance from BIMM London and specialise in being able to read music to a high level. I regularly get asked to play for UK touring shows, most recently Jersey Boys UK tour 2026. Jumping from one show to another can often leave me with short time frames to learn a large volume of music that covers a multitude of genres and styles.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, I believe the skills I have picked up over years of playing in different musical situations and genres can help you to reach your full potential.

Mike taught both my son and daughter guitar lessons from the comfort of our home, which was really convenient for a busy family. He is friendly and knowledgeable, and the kids really took to him and look forward to their lessons each week.
