I haved worked in childcare since 2006 after leaving college with a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years. This resulted in promotion to supervisor - being in charge of the setting, staff and up to 30 children aged 4 to 11 at one time.
I then achieved a job as a student support worker in a further education college supporting students with various needs in various courses such as childcare, health and social care and foundation learning programmes. The levels which I taught childcare and IT to were Level 2 courses in the college. I have supported through a variety of levels from pre entry (foundation learning) to level 3 sports students studying Maths and English alongside their main course.
Through the college I studied a university course to achieve a CertEd qualification and then applied to get a QTLS status which led to me becoming college lecturer.
I love supporting students and helping them to reach their goals and seeing them succeed. I have recently left the college to go on maternity leave and would be interested in a new route to help students achieve their goals through a different path.
