About Damião
My name is Damiao Jose Soares Afonso, and I am a musician, philosopher, and teacher with a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring others. I have a background in musicology and have been involved in teaching and performing music for many years. From playing multiple instruments to founding music courses and bands, my journey has been driven by a deep love for art and a commitment to nurturing talent.
I want to teach because I believe education is a powerful tool for change. For me, teaching is not just about transferring knowledge; it’s about empowering individuals to realize their potential, find their voice, and make a positive impact in the world. I have seen firsthand how learning music, philosophy, or any discipline can transform lives, and I want to be a part of that transformation.
Teaching allows me to connect with students, share my experiences, and guide them in their own unique journeys. It’s my way of giving back to the world and contributing to a future where creativity, critical thinking, and peace are at the center of our lives.
