About Olena
I'm a piano/singing/theory music teacher offering lessons online, face to face in Richmond Borough and surroundings. I'm patient and creative and students are encouraged to learn at their own pace. You can come to my studio based in SW14, or I can teach at your place in case you have a piano, I also give lessons online if you have an internet. I hold BA and MA Diploma in music and didactics. I have over 15 years teaching experience. I am fully DBS checked. I created my own programme which helps my students to reach up to grade 8 classical & teach pop, jazz, theory & composition. I teach adults and children starting from 4 y.o. Lessons are centred around having fun learning inspiring music. If you are returning to piano and would like suggestions of new music, I can also help you find your level. I can help you with sight reading, you’ll learn by ear & develop a good understanding of harmony & chords. Many people simply want to have fun learning music they love others are ambitious to gain skills and develop a career in music. Music also can be used as a therapy. Currently I have space on weekday mornings/early afternoon which would suit adults and preschoolers/home educated kids. Lessons are charged according to the length. Recommendations upon request. Pls get in touch to find out more (concealed information)2. Many thanks

I believe in helping students experience the joy of music-making by giving them foundational knowledge and skills to succeed, introducing them to great and inspirational music, and providing continual positive encouragement. Having a solid technical foundation is just as important to me as developing facile reading skills, but neither of these matter if a student is not having fun along the way. I strive to give my students a well-rounded musical education while also finding the specific aspects of music that make each student come alive. I believe in getting to know my students and adapting lessons according to their unique learning styles and goals. I don’t use a prescribed “system” but rather tailor each student’s curriculum to them individually. I believe in engaging not just a child but an entire family in the journey of learning the piano. The more support a child or individual has surrounding their goals, the more successful they will be. Families who set consistent routines, who learn together and listen together, will have a more joyful and enriching experience than those who treat piano like a chore or checklist item. I believe that learning the piano can be a powerful experience that will enhance your life in many ways, and I enjoy helping my students learn some of the life lessons and critical skills that come along with mastering the ins and outs of the instrument.
