About Kara
Hi I'm Kara, I am 20 and Chicago based.
I have been teaching for about 6 years now in history, stem, and sex education.
I have been volunteering at the museum of science industry for 4 years now. I have worked alongside 3D printers laser cutters vinyl cutters and many more I have worked with many of the different programs as well.
Though I am here to teach you about social studies and different types of history. I am also here to encourage you to learn as well as help you gain confidence in the material that you will be learning.
I hope that you will be able to find yourself more confident and more comfortable in different learning spaces but also with the knowledge that you already have.
Also I have seven cats, And I think if you've gotten this far you should know that I have a snake named Pickett. Overtime as we get to know each other you will probably learn the names of my cats and learn about them.

I usually like to teach remotely, as it is more comfortable for me.
I do have a few rules such as:
1. Be Kind and Respectful
2. Mental and Mood Check-in's are important. (Please let me know if something is bothering you. So I can see if we can fix it or help make things better.)
3. There are no stupid questions.
(If I don't know what the answer is we can figure it out together. Because I don't know everything.)
Lesson plan:
The first 10 minutes are to get settled, check-in, and talk about what you are wanting to work on.
After that we will work on what you're having trouble with.
We can converse about the things that you are trying to figure out and feel free to talk about what ideas or theories you have. Also please let me know what type of learning styles works best for you
Food and drinks are allowed as long as they won't be distracting.

Details
You may look at the travel/ hourly fees, And think it is quite expensive. But I do not have a car so Lyft and Uber are my main modes of transportation for me to be able to get where I need to be in a timely manner. The hourly fee is set at where it's at because it funds my ability to get the necessary materials for the study sessions such as textbooks, programs, and documentaries.
