About Raquel
I am NOT a math snob. I do like math, and I recognize that most people do not. I blame the media for the math propaganda! My goal is to help you see that learning math can feel really good and even if you feel like you will never use it in the future (some of this stuff, you won't) I will try my best to help you see a purpose in the lesson. I will be totally honest with you and pull stories from my experience as a student and as a teacher!

A typical lesson will start with me asking you about your day, and quickly moving into your math work. I'll ask what you're learning, if you have tests coming up, and we will create a goal for our time together. We will go through math problems and I will as many approaches as needed to help you feel like you understand the concept. There is no rush or pressure to understand the content, so being honest about your comfortability is essential. My job is to help you feel comfortable and confident in math, so the more questions you ask the better!
