About Tala
My name is Tala Alnasser, I am of Arab decent but have moved over 6 different times. I have interned at a law firm and contracting company as a translator and editor of nondisclosures, and other documents. I have coached chess at a beginner level via Zoom. I also tutor my friends and children weekly in Math (Algebra and Geometry, and Statistics) and English (Essay writing and editing). In my free time, I read A LOT and I write. I also play chess and love volunteering with refugees. Looks are just a bonus!

I acquire various skills that would contribute greatly to tour academic journey. I have moved over six different times living in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, and different cities in Utah thus giving me a unique social perspective on culture. I have true passion for diversity and always seek to learn about other cultures while preserving my own. My dedication and passion can be seen through the leadership roles I take in school. I am the Student Recognition officer and I have planned the first International fair at Skyridge Highschool. I am also the founder of the Arabic Club and Social Studies Club, and I am the President of the French Club where I plan monthly activities to help enhance French students' linguistic journeys. I also volunteer monthly with Student Council at senior homes and local food pantries, and I teach leadership lessons at elementary schools. I am a World Languages Sterling Scholar finalist, and I speak three of the recognized UN Languages: Arabic(native), English, and French(acquired seal biliteracy, passed DELF exam and AP test). I am able to provide translations as well as a comforting space for people to share their stories and feel heard. I always listen with the intent of understanding, rather than replying.I am a native Arabic Speaker, I have also published a short story in Arabic. I also received a 5 on my AP English Language and Composition test accrediting me as a college level writer. I have achieved the highest grades in Secondary 2 and 3 Honors, and I am currently taking AP Statistics. I have also been awarded an award of Excellence by Harvard University during Harvard Model Congress Conference for my research, presentation, and writing abilities.
