About Andy
I am an experienced university lecturer, screenwriter and researcher with a strong background in teaching Screenwriting, Creative Writing, English Literature, Film Studies and Media Studies. I currently teach at Falmouth University, where I work with undergraduate and postgraduate students on script development, creative practice, critical analysis and professional writing skills.
My approach is clear, supportive and professionally focused. I help students build confidence in their ideas, strengthen their writing and develop the critical tools needed to understand texts, films, television and media in greater depth.
Whether you need help with essays, scripts, portfolios, close reading, exam preparation or creative development, I provide structured, constructive guidance tailored to your goals.

My tutoring is practical, supportive and tailored to the student’s goals. I combine close reading, discussion, writing exercises, feedback and industry-style development methods to help students improve both their critical thinking and creative practice.
Lessons usually last 60 minutes, with longer 90-minute sessions available for script feedback, portfolio development or exam preparation.
I’m a university lecturer in Screenwriting and Comedy Writing, with experience teaching creative writing, scriptwriting, film, television, audio, literature and media analysis at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I’m also completing a PhD in Film Studies and have professional experience as a screenwriter, radio writer and podcast producer.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate, postgraduate and adult learners, including students preparing essays, scripts, portfolios, applications or creative projects.
