About Jon
A highly professional and approachable tutor, Jonathan has always had a passion for education, but over the years has developed a creative and engaging style of tutoring that aims to go further than just help students achieve an academic grade.
His main goal is to improve all forms of communication - reading, writing, speaking & listening - and make connections between what is learnt in school, and what happens in the wider world i.e. to make English Language and Literature relevant!
To that end, all of his sessions have one eye on what the student is studying in school, and what is happening in wider society.

A highly adaptable English tutor, Jonathan attained a PGSE in English before becoming an English teacher at the Dean Academy in Gloucestershire. He then went on to get an MA in Screenwriting from the prestigious National Film and Television School (attaining a First in his MA Dissertation).
He has many years experience teaching English Language and Literature to students of all ages, but is particularly knowledgeable of the GCSE and iGCSE curricula. His lessons are one hour in length and he adapts his style of teaching to the needs of the student.
He has an up-to-date Enhanced DBS Certificate.
