About Iman
I have over four years of experience teaching and supporting students across GCSE and A-Level subjects, including English, French, Spanish and History. Throughout this time, I have worked with students of different abilities and learning styles, helping them improve academically while also building their confidence and motivation.
I decided to become a tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students reach their potential and discover confidence in subjects they may initially find difficult. I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on creating lessons that are supportive, engaging and personalised to each individual’s goals. Seeing students grow in confidence, improve their grades and develop a genuine understanding of their subjects is the most rewarding part of teaching for me.
As someone who is still actively studying in an academic environment, I also understand the pressures students face today and can offer relatable, up-to-date guidance on revision techniques, exam preparation and effective study habits.

My approach to tutoring History is focused on building confidence, critical thinking and strong essay-writing skills in a supportive and engaging environment. As a History and International Relations student at a Russell Group University with over four years of tutoring experience, I understand the demands of GCSE and A-Level History and tailor each lesson to the individual student’s needs and goals.
My lessons focus on helping students develop a deeper understanding of historical events, themes and interpretations while also improving the exam techniques needed to achieve high grades. I teach students how to structure strong arguments, analyse sources effectively and write clear, well-supported essays. I also help students improve revision methods, note-taking and time management skills to make studying more effective and less overwhelming.
A typical lesson lasts around 1 hour, however this can vary depending on a student's needs and usually includes a review of previous content, focused work on a particular topic or exam skill, and practice questions or essay planning. Lessons are interactive and adapted to the student’s learning style, ensuring they feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating.
Having studied History extensively myself, I am able to provide clear explanations of complex topics and relatable advice on how to succeed in exams. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and personalised, helping students gain confidence as well as improve academically.
Lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level History students of all abilities, whether they are aiming to improve grades, prepare for exams or strengthen their understanding of the subject.
