About Lauren
Hi, I’m Lauren, a young graduate currently working as a teaching assistant in preparation for my PGCE in Education. With a strong academic background and a passion for helping others, I’m excited to offer private tutoring services that make a real difference. Here’s what makes me the right choice for you or your child: Academic Excellence I’ve worked hard to achieve top grades throughout my education, earning A’s in both Maths and English GCSEs, along with outstanding A-Level results in History (A), Sociology (A*), Physical Education (A*), and the Welsh Baccalaureate (A*). I recently graduated with a high 2.1 degree from one of the UK’s top universities, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to tutor in a range of subjects. Tutoring Experience My experience as a tutor at Kumon for two years gave me the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformational impact private tutoring can have on students aged 2 to 18. I saw how personalised teaching could boost confidence, improve academic performance, and ignite a love for learning. Why I Teach As someone who didn’t have private tutoring growing up, I understand the challenges students face and the difference that tailored support can make. It’s my goal to provide the guidance and encouragement I wish I had, helping students reach their full potential. Whether it’s improving their grades, building study habits, or gaining confidence in their abilities, I’m here to help them succeed! If you’re looking for a dedicated, approachable, and knowledgeable tutor who’s passionate about education, get in touch with me today. Let’s work together to achieve your academic goals!

Teaching English to children is about more than just grammar and spelling—it's about sparking curiosity, nurturing creativity, and building the confidence they need to express themselves clearly and effectively. My goal is to help your child not only improve their language skills but also develop a love for the language and the world of possibilities it offers. Teaching Methodology My approach is interactive, dynamic, and designed to cater to each child’s interests and developmental stage. I focus on engagement and creativity to make learning English enjoyable while challenging them to reach their full potential. Here’s how I make my lessons unique: Interest-Driven Lessons Every child is different, and their learning should reflect that. I take time to understand what excites your child—whether it's sports, animals, technology, or storytelling—and I build lessons around those interests. This keeps them motivated and engaged, ensuring they stay focused and excited about learning. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving English is a tool for navigating the world, and the best way to learn it is by using it to solve problems! I create activities that encourage kids to think critically, make decisions, and communicate their ideas clearly. These activities challenge their language skills while also developing essential cognitive skills. What a Typical Lesson Looks Like- Each lesson is designed to be fun, interactive, and impactful, providing your child with the skills they need in a way that feels natural and exciting. Here’s what a typical session might include: Warm-Up Activity (5-10 minutes): We start with a short, engaging activity to get your child thinking in English—this could be a quick game, a short conversation, or a word association exercise. Skill Focus (20-25 minutes): The main part of the lesson centres on developing a specific skill—whether it's improving writing, expanding vocabulary, refining grammar, or building reading comprehension. These activities are designed to be interactive, so your child will always be actively participating and practising. Creative Application (10-15 minutes): Here, your child will apply what they’ve learned in a fun and creative way—whether it’s writing a short story, creating a mini-presentation, or solving a group-based language challenge. This part of the lesson encourages critical thinking and reinforces the skills they’ve just learned. Review and Reflection (5-10 minutes): We finish the lesson by reviewing what your child learned and discussing any challenges they faced. I provide positive reinforcement and constructive feedback, and I may suggest activities or exercises to help them continue to grow outside of class. What You Need to Know Flexible Scheduling: I understand that children’s schedules can be busy, so I offer flexible lesson times that can fit into your child’s routine. Fun and Pressure-Free Learning: My lessons are designed to be engaging and low-pressure. I believe that learning should be a fun experience, and that’s why I ensure that every session feels like an exciting adventure, not a chore. Why My Method Works The key to mastering English—especially for children who are already fluent—is to make learning fun, meaningful, and engaging. I focus on creative expression, active participation, and collaborative learning to ensure that your child is not only improving their English skills but also developing a deeper appreciation for the language and its endless possibilities. If you’re looking for a tutor who understands how to make English learning enjoyable and impactful for your child, let’s get started. Together, we can help your child take their English skills to the next level!
