About Sophie

I am a friendly, patient, and supportive tutor who is passionate about helping students feel more confident in their studies. I understand that school, exams, and revision can often feel stressful and overwhelming, so I aim to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
As someone who is a good listener, I take the time to understand each student’s individual needs and adapt my teaching style to support them in the best way possible. I believe that building confidence is just as important as improving grades, and I am always here to offer guidance, encouragement, and academic support throughout the learning process.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual learning styles, goals, and areas for improvement.

I use a combination of discussion, guided practice, exam-style questions, and revision techniques to help students strengthen both their subject knowledge and exam skills. My lessons are designed not only to improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident and engaged with the subject.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although I am happy to adapt lesson lengths where needed.

I am a History graduate from the University of Bristol with strong academic experience in History and Sociology. Alongside subject knowledge, I can also support students with essay writing, revision planning, critical thinking, and exam preparation skills.

My lessons are suitable for students of all abilities studying History or Sociology at all levels, including GCSE and A-Level, as well as students looking for additional support with study skills and exam confidence.
