About Anna
I am a recent history graduate with experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, and a strong enjoyment of reading and writing. I would love to spread my enjoyment of humanities with students, helping them reach their potential. Using what I have learnt through my A-Levels and degree, as well as my teaching experience, I want to work with students and help them find a passion for their subject, as well as reach their academic goals!

I like to create a long-term plan with my students in the first session, understanding their curriculum, their strengths and any areas of weakness. I also treat this as an opportunity to find out about a student's learning style, and adjust my lesson planning accordingly.
In the lessons, I like to begin with some brief taster questions and outline the specific learning goals. Then, I will treat the main portion of the lesson as time spent working together on a piece of work, whether that is guided critical analysis of a text, writing a short piece of writing, or critiquing an answer. If the student is a GCSE / A-Level student, I would supplement this with a potential model answer and mark scheme, and then help them build on their own approach. The lesson ends referring to the mark scheme, evaluating the student's new understanding, and depending on confidence levels, assessing next steps.
