About Tom
I am a History and Politics graduate (High 2:1 from the University of Nottingham, 2015-2018), also comfortable tutoring Classics up to A level.
I work in an unrelated field but run my own history website and podcast (theministryofhistory.co.uk). I do so out of a pure passion for history and for teaching people about it.
The history side of my degree focused on early modern Britain, the Venetian Republic (1475-1570) and James I's reign (1603-1625), while the politics side focused on British politics (particularly the origins and fallout of Brexit) and American politics. I wrote my dissertation on how Donald Trump won the US presidency in 2016.
I am also particularly comfortable tutoring A Level politics, both British and American.
Although I did not study it at degree level, I would say my favourite subject at school was Classics. I achieved an A* grade in the subject at A Level.
